UV Flu's proven air purification technology uses high-intensity ultraviolet light (UV-C) to clean air and destroy bacteria. Its flagship ViraTechTM UV-400 product draws air in through a killing chamber where baffles provide the turbulence necessary to bring bacteria in close proximity to the special UVC lamps, allowing the germicidal UV-C to kill any bacteria present. Before exiting, the air stream passes through a gross particulate screen which removes the neutralized dust and debris. The screen can be cleaned every 6-12 months of continuous operation. This is an advantage over HEPA filter products which trap but do not kill the bacteria, requiring filters to be discarded as red bag waste.

The ViraTech UV-400 unit has been laboratory tested with proven results in reducing odors and VOC's (volatile organic compounds). Independent EPA and FDA certified laboratory testing confirms the system kills airborne bacteria at rates ranging from 99.2% to more than 99.99% on a first-pass basis.
